Woods Wise, there is a lot of good info at the Hit Site!
Learn where to look. You may have to look some ways out on the line before you find sign. Some sign will be under over hanging weeds and branchs. Dont forget to look there!. Very good program on how to read the sign found at a hit site and out along the trail. This program helps educate Hunters and Trackers a like.. |
Now it was day three, testing day,
I watched Kirk, "Hound on a Rope" Vaughan, working his dog, and I knew that he was a handler whose heart beat straight down the rope and into his dog. I felt humble and awed, and not a little out of my league. I listened as Cheri gave Kirk a wonderful recap of his test. It was clear to me that she had truly observed their working relationship and was able to offer a constructive, thoughtful critique. His pride in his dog was evident. And his smile was as wide as the field we stood in when she said he passed with flying colors.

We enjoyed the tackfest!
Held at the Bird Dog Field Trial Grounds.
A lot of dog history here! At Hoffman in the Sand Hills of N.C,
United Blood Trackers hosted this 3 day event in May 2014 .
The training grounds where great. Scenting conditions were not too bad either.
A good shower had cooled things down some and added a little moisture to the grounds.
Overall for all, it's learning in the field. Working with the handlers and dogs and for the
class room value!
FIVE STARS *****
.It was a well planned event and lot of good trackers came
in from all around . Nice group those, United Blood Trackers.
Members had a ball! The hands on field training was great.
Thanks, U.B.T.
Great fun and learning in the field, that's what trackfest was to Mac and me!.. .
